Measuring Tips:
Measuring for a kilt is straightforward but crucial. Follow these tips for accurate measurements:
👉 Have someone else measure you; attempting self-measurement may lead to inaccuracies. Avoid guessing based on your jeans size.
👉 Take the exact measurement where you plan to wear the kilt. Traditional Tartan Kilts are typically worn higher on the waist (at the navel or BELLY BUTTON), although you can choose to wear it elsewhere.
👉 Measure in inches and round odd sizes to the nearest even size.
👉 WAIST: The kilt is worn just above your natural waist at the BELLY BUTTON, likely 2 sizes larger than your jeans waist. Measure snugly over a regular shirt.
LENGTH: Stand erect with a straight back, and have a friend kneel at your side to find the top of your hip bone. With a 2" rise above the natural waist, place the "2" on the measuring tape at the top of your hip bone. Measure down the side of your hip to determine the desired length, usually at the knee.
👉 Measure twice, and the obtained measurement is the size to order.
